Vogler sees a further success factor in the extensive company strategy, which is revised in detail every two years. “This makes it is easier for us to concentrate on our core applications and not to be distracted.” Having said that, the two develop- ers still have a lot of fun working on other, more unusual projects. “Once we delivered large block sonotrodes for smoothening pizza dough and an extremely wide drum sonotrode to emboss the corrugated white paper to pack certain well-known sandwich cookies,” says Zendler. Within the strategic guidelines, Vogler continues to want creative freedom and also some time to think. Zendler seconds this: “Even if the progress becomes more tedious, we can stay innova- tive. However, it is also important to convey to the customer an increasing complexity: Human-machine commu- nication will become more important than ever in the future.” The limits in ultrasonic welding that are still there today – perhaps Ulrich Vogler, Stefan Zendler, and their developer teams will overcome them.
