Thomas Schneider has been at the company for over 34 years, while son Simon has been there since 2008. While it was not a foregone conclusion that junior would follow in his dad’s footsteps, it came as no great surprise. Simon: I am in contact with my father every day: I work in sonotrode manufacturing, he works in sonotrode measurement. He is an easy-going colleague. When I was still doing my apprenticeship at Herrmann, he actu- ally did part of the teaching. However, it was not clear from the beginning whether I would go to Herrmann or if I would join the family farm, which we run as a hobby. Thomas: Even when he was a small boy, I brought Simon to work with me when I had to work on Saturdays. He sped through the hall in his bobby car or tied it to the hoist and let it pull him through the hall. That was his first contact with Herrmann Ultraschall. It means a lot to me that he works here and we are in contact with each other every day. I can see how my son is de- veloping, which allows me to support and help him on his journey. 111 110
